Empowering possibilities for change. With human-centred Positive Behaviour Support.

For people and practitioners seeking evidence-led, real-world answers that actually make a difference for people living with disability.

Behaviour Support in Action

We promote and demonstrate real- world, human centered neuro affirming behaviour support.

Our work aligns and complies with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Capability framework. We believe in the validity of lived experience and evidenced based best practice. We care about our community, and we listen to our clients.

We hear you. Whether you are a person with a disability, or you support a person with a disability, the world presents barriers. It's not easy. We won't pretend that it is.  But with Banksia, you are not alone. Our clients deserve to be understood, have strong self and caregiver advocacy and access to the right supports and effective tools that promote quality of life.

This is the hope, and at Banksia, we are fiercely committed to turning this hope into real outcomes

This is Banksia. This is how we create change. This is how we make a difference.

We See You
And You Belong Here

If you’ve had to fight to be heard...
If you’ve been given plans that didn’t make sense for your child or your family...
If you’ve felt more judged than supported by the professionals who were supposed to help...

You’re not alone and you are not the problem.

At Banksia, we know that traditional systems don’t always work — especially for people with disability and the people who care for them. Many of the people we work with come to us after being hurt, dismissed, over-assessed, or told they’re too “complex.”

We’ve worked in environments where compliance tick-boxes mattered more than connection. Where people were reduced to “behaviours.” Where professionals were expected to follow policies that didn’t sit right. We’ve lived both sides of that system — and we chose to do things differently.

Our founder, Amy, is an Autistic woman, a carer of children with disabilities, and an award-winning Behaviour Support Practitioner. Her lived experience — both personal and professional — led her to one clear truth: when we ask people to bend to fit broken systems, we fail the very people we claim to support.

So she built something new. Something real. A practice that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone. A place where values come first — not red tape.

Where lived experience matters

Where your story is the starting point — not a diagnosis

Where behaviour support is human, ethical, and trauma-aware

Where clinicians and carers who challenge the status quo are backed, not silenced

Where people are never just “managed” — they are supported with respect

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all support.

We believe in asking why a behaviour is happening, not just how to stop it.
In advocating for human rights — even when it’s uncomfortable.
In making evidence meaningful, not just academic.

So yes — we’re not everyone’s cup of tea

But if you’ve been looking for a place where support finally feels right…
Where your child is seen as a whole person…
Where your voice is not only heard but valued…

Then welcome. You’re our kind of person. And Banksia was made for you.

So what does this actually mean for you?

Listening deeply — to understand your needs, your likes, your worries, and your hopes

Listening to learn and understand your needs, your likes, your worries, your hopes

Finding evidence-based answers that make sense in the real world

Taking compliance and safeguards seriously, always

Never compromising client outcomes in favour of organisational demands

Fiercely seeking possibilities and opportunities that enhance your quality of life

Removing barriers wherever possible — not creating more

Offering personalised, best-practice positive behaviour support where everyone is respected

Phasing out and ending restrictive practices

Never making promises we can’t deliver — just honest, meaningful support

Because everybody deserves that.

Hi, I'm Amy Hall

Advanced/Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner. Clinical Supervisor. Speaker. Changemaker.

I’m a proud Autistic woman with ADHD living with disability. I’m also a mum to Autistic children, learning and growing everyday. So believe me when I say, I get it. And I’m profoundly committed to powering more possibilities for you, and every family and practitioner supporting people living with disability.

Backed by 20 years in education, leadership and disability support, I founded Banksia Support Services in 2021 to help create more positive change for others.
